For Amy, think Pink...

Wearing pink Sunday at the Byron Nelson wasn’t intended to be just any old fashion statement; it was for a very specific and heartfelt reason. As most of you have heard or read, Amy Mickelson was diagnosed with breast cancer last week. As a result, Phil indefinitely suspended his play on Tour to ensure he will be with her through this trying time.

Sabbatini not only wore this pink shirt to show his support for Amy, Phil and their entire family, but he and his wife made pink ribbons for players to wear in honor of Amy and all those battling this terrible disease.

Also, from across the pond J.D. made it a point to wear pink during the final round of the BMW PGA Championship. He told the media that he has had some close friends and family affected by this disease and he wanted to let Amy and Phil know that he is thinking about them, too.

Wearing pink ribbons, pink shirts, or pink anything has definitely become the statement to make in order to show support of those who battle this disease. So much so, that the Tour Wives Association had declared a “Pink Out” this week during the third round of the Colonial, where Mickelson would have been defending his title. The wives association is asking all players, wives, volunteers and spectators to participate in showing Amy their support.

We will definitely be in our pink this Saturday and we want Amy and the Mickelson family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers.
