The Travelers Championship has invited three promising young players to its event, which will be held the week after the U.S. Open.
Danny Lee, Kyle Stanley and Rickie Fowler have accepted invitations to the tournament. Fowler’s invitation previously was reported by Golfweek.
Lee, the 2008 U.S. Amateur champ, has made three consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour. Stanley recently won the Ben Hogan Award, which is given to the top player based on performance in collegiate and amateur golf; he finished second at last week’s NCAA Championship.
Rickie Fowler, the ’08 Hogan Award winner, is the No. 1 player in the Golfweek/amateurgolf.com Amateur Rankings.
