Jordan Spieth took the lead Wednesday at the AJGA’s FootJoy Boys Invitational after shooting a second-round 4-under 66 to move to 8-under par for the tournament.
Spieth, Golfweek’s top-ranked junior, had seven birdies and three bogeys, and is three shots ahead of Ian McConnell (69).
Spieth has three career victories and three runner-up finishes in AJGA events. He has only finished outside of the top 10 twice in his 16 AJGA starts.
Richy Werenski, Jim Liu and Tom Lovelady are tied for third at 4 under, while first-round leader M.J. Maguire slipped back to T-12 after a 74.
