Paula Creamer will miss the first major of the season.

The eight-time LPGA winner withdrew Wednesday from next week’s Kraft Nabisco Championship because of an ailing thumb.

Creamer shot 69 in the opening round of the Honda PTT LPGA Thailand, then withdrew with a sore thumb. She hasn’t played since, withdrawing from the event in Singapore and this week’s Kia Classic in Carlsbad, Calif.

Creamer, 23, battled a stomach aliment in 2009 and did not win a tournament. She won four times in 2008.

Since turning pro in 2005, Creamer has competed in all 20 major championships.
