Facts and figures from first 36 holes at Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – While we sit and wait for the third round of the Masters to begin, some appetizers from the first 36 holes:

• A total of 96 players teed it up and exactly half of them made the cut at 3-over 147.

• Jason Dufner birdied four of his last five holes, including each of the last three, to make the cut on the number.

• Ryo Ishikawa was the opposite. He bogeyed three of the final five to miss by one.

• Jim Furyk played Nos. 16-18 in 7 over and was a whopping 12 over on the back. He had only been 10 over on the back in his previous 13 Masters.

• Alvaro Quiros was even par through 30 holes, but proceeded to double 13, bogey 14, bogey 15, bogey 16, and bogey 17. He has now missed the cut in both Masters starts and is 16 over on the back.

• In 36 holes, Justin Leonard made just one birdie.

• John Rollins was 3 under through his first seven holes, 13 over for the next 29.

• Geoff Ogilvy went the other way. He was 4 over through nine, 2 under the next 27.

• Robert Karlsson has made 11 birdies through 36 holes. But he has also made eight bogeys and a double.

• Bill Haas is 3 over at the par-4 11th, 5 under everywhere else.

• John Merrick was on the cut number, but double-bogeyed the par-4 18th.

• Lee Westwood has played Nos. 2 and 3 in 5 under.

• Tiger Woods has just one bogey over his last 22 holes.

• Anthony Kim is 5 under and bogey-free on the front; Phil Mickelson is 6 under and bogey-free on the back.
