UC Irvine cruised to a 17-shot victory Tuesday at the Big West Championship, the Anteaters’ sixth conference title since 2001.
UC Irvine, No. 56 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, posted a three-round total of 9-over 873 at Mission Viejo (Calif.) Country Club. Pacific was a distant second at 26-over 890, and Long Beach State was third at 895.
UC Irvine senior John Chin, No. 9 in Golfweek’s rankings, earned medalist honors after closing with a 1-under 71 for a nine-shot victory over Pacific’s T.J.
