It was 2007 in Bradenton, Fla., and Paula Creamer eagerly awaited her first meeting with the Sundog Eyewear design team. As sample sunglasses were laid out in front of the company’s newest endorser, then just 19, her excitement fizzled.
“They had set out all of the sunglasses in front of me, but they were all basically men’s glasses, and I was like, ‘Really?’ ” Creamer recalled. “I was thinking more feminine, more fashion pieces.”
John Whitney, a Sundog designer, picked up on Creamer’s vision for her sunglass collection. He pulled out another box of samples.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, this is more of what I want,’ ” Creamer said.
“I really wanted to introduce fashion into the game of golf with these sunglasses, something that you can wear on or off the course.”
She knew exactly what she wanted, and with Whitney’s help, has customized a line of products that is uniquely Paula.
