RENO, Nev. – Annika Sorenstam and Patty Sheehan are trying to get more women interested in the PGA Tour’s Reno-Tahoe Open.
The two Hall of Fame golfers have agreed to host a Women’s Day on the Saturday of this year’s tournament running July 15-18 at Montreux Golf & Country Club.
Sheehan lives in Reno and Sorenstam has a home at Lake Tahoe.
Sorenstam says she’s glad to see the tournament working to encourage female involvement at the 12th annual event on the mountain course designed by Jack Nicklaus. They will host a golf demonstration and speak at a luncheon July 17.
Tickets are $225. Guests also get access to a health expo and coupons for a wine tasting walk that includes Sorenstam’s namesake Syrah, which she released last spring through Wente Vineyards.
