More new equipment releases for summer

Manufacturers are not waiting until the new year to introduce gear, and there are many new products that could help your game immediately. Last week, Golfweek showed you a driver, a wedge and a putter. Here are a few more products:

• • •

Callaway X-24 Hot irons

<!—->

The skinny: Callaway calls the X-24 “the longest, most accurate iron” in the history of the X series. The clubs include a 360-degree undercut channel and Callaway’s new, darker PVD finish that reduces glare.

Cost: $699 (4-AW, optional SW, steel shafts), $899 with graphite

Available: Immediate

Adams Idea Black Super Hybrid

<!—->

The skinny: This new large-headed hybrid might be called the offspring of a marriage between bigger fairway woods and typical hybrids. Its head size falls between the two, and its shaft length definitely is longer than most hybrids (42.5 inches for the 15-degree model). Other lofts are 17, 19 and 21 degrees. Plated with a striking black finish.

Cost: MSRP $249

Available: Immediate

JumboMax grips

The skinny: To put it bluntly, these are the largest grips in golf. JumboMax, a new company, is targeting golfers of all hand sizes. The sales pitch: Big grips allow a more relaxed grip. They weigh slightly more than 100 grams, so they will lower a club’s swingweight. Sold in medium, large and extra large sizes, although the medium is bigger than any other jumbo grip in golf.

Cost: $10.99 per grip

Available: Immediate

Bobby Jones SuperLite driver

The skinny: This driver is designed for golfers with swing speeds of 85 mph or less. Available in 9, 10.5 and 12.5 degrees, it comes with a Graphite Design shaft that is 47 inches (2 inches over standard) and weighs 45 grams. Even at that length, the club’s overall weight is less than 300 grams.

Cost: $299
