COLUMBUS, Ohio – Australians were 1-2-3 heading into the final round of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational. Nick Flanagan fired a 2-under-par 69 Saturday to move into sole possession of the 54-hole lead, one stroke in front of countrymen Alistair Presnell and Won Joon Lee.
What a difference a day makes.
American D.J. Brigman played spoiler to the Aussies by carding a 7-under 64 Sunday to come from behind to win the Nationwide event played over the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University.
Brigman, who earned $144,000, finished at 10-under 274 and won by a stroke over Jamie Lovemark, who shot 66 on Sunday. It’s Brigman’s second tour win; he won the 2003 Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic.
Flanagan (70), David Mathis (66), Daniel Summerhays (68) and Lee (69) shared third place at 8-under 276.
