Hossler (No. 3, 2013) makes unofficial visits

Beau Hossler, who qualified for the 2011 U.S. Open at age 16, told Golfweek that he has made unofficial visits to USC, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Texas and San Diego. He said that he likely will make a visit to Arizona State, which just hired Tim Mickelson as its new head coach, and possibly Georgia Tech.

Hossler, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., graduates from high school in spring 2013. At No. 10 in Golfweek’s Junior Rankings, he is one of the most highly prized recruits in the 2013 class.

“I’ve liked all of (the schools),” said Hossler, who earned medalist honors at the 2011 U.S. Junior Amateur. “We’ll keep visiting and see which one I like best. But right now, I’m totally undecided.”
