The Baffler T-Rail fairway woods are designed by Cobra, first and foremost, to be easy to hit off the tee – but they really shine in the fairway and from the rough.
While the face of the Baffler T-Rail is made from stainless steel to increase ball speeds, tungsten has been added to a pair of rails on the sole to dramatically lower the center of gravity (CG) and create a higher ball flight. Because the tungsten has been positioned toward the edges of the club, in the heel and toe areas, it also should help to increase moment of inertia, (MOI), making these fairway woods less likely to twist on slightly mis-hit shots.
The rails, which run from behind the leading edge and face to the back of the sole, are meant to help the club skim across and through the turf, making the Baffler T-Rail fairway woods much more forgiving.
At address, there are two yellow lines positioned on the shiny back crown. They are a ball’s-width apart and designed to help golfers align the ball more effectively and square the face to the target line.
When first released, the Baffler T-Rail fairway woods were available in 13-, 16-, 18- and 20-degree versions for $179 with stock graphite shafts.
