Like the other clubs in the Baffler line, Cobra’s T-Rail hybrid is designed to maximize forgiveness and make hitting the ball high in the air a lot easier.
At address, golfers will see a pair of golf ball-width yellow lines on the black crown. They are designed to aid alignment, but honestly, the bottom of the club is where the Baffler T-Rail hybrid really shines.
To make these hybrids skim over the turf, as well as through rough and sand more efficiently, Cobra designed a pair of rails in the sole that run from the leading edge to the back of the club. They do that by reducing the surface area of the sole that makes contact with the ground.
To lower the center of gravity and make getting shots airborne easier, Cobra positioned tungsten weights in the rear portion of the rails. At the same time, the Carpenter steel face has been made slightly thinner to create more ball speed for extra distance.
When first released, the hybrids were available in 17-, 19-, 22-, 25- and 28-degree versions that cost $159 with the stock Graphite Design Tour AD shaft.
