The Mizuno JPX-825 fairway woods are available in 3-wood (15 degrees) and 5-wood (18) configurations. Like the JPX-825 driver, the fairway woods have square face angles.
Another noteworthy carryover from the driver is the Ultimate Dynamic Stability internal weight. One function of this weighting scheme is to provide a high trajectory and maximum carry distance with the fairway woods.
The essence of the story behind the JPX-825 3-wood and 5-wood is Mizuno’s quest for the perfect fairway wood. These hot-faced clubs include an L-shaped maraging steel face designed, in Mizuno’s words, to “increase trampoline effect.”
These woods feature a large footprint and deep face. Also new is a Speed Bevel sole for improved turf interaction.
The stock shaft is a Fujikura Orochi Blue Eye 65, and the retail price is $199.99.
