Richard Hubbard has given a verbal commitment to play college golf in the Big Ten Conference at Wisconsin. Hubbard, ranked No. 98 in the 2013 class, is a junior at Pinewood Preparatory School in Daniel Island, S.C.
Hubbard made unofficial visits to Wisconsin, South Carolina, Auburn and South Florida.
“I really enjoy Coach (Michael) Burcin’s personality, and I think he’s going to do good things at the University of Wisconsin, and I hope to be able to help him put together a really good team. When I visited in January, there was snow everywhere, and I actually loved it,” Hubbard said. “Wisconsin is building a new indoor facility that will be finished this August, and it’s going to be awesome. Madison is a great city, and I just knew it was the place for me.”
Last summer, Hubbard tied for second place at the AJGA E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship.
