UC Riverside coach Hjulberg announces resignation

Paul Hjulberg, head coach of the UC Riverside men’s and women’s golf teams, has announced his resignation from both positions.

“I’ve enjoyed my 12 years at UC Riverside,” Hjulberg said. “Coaching was my life dream, and I’m very proud of what we accomplished during my tenure. I was privileged to be the one to re-start the golf programs at UCR. I wish both programs much success in the future.”

Under Hjulberg, the Highlander men won the Big West Conference Championship in 2004 and ’05. The women finished third at the conference championship in 2006 and ’07. Among other highlights of Hjulberg’s tenure is his work with PGA Tour player Brendan Steele, a UC Riverside alum.

The UC Riverside men are ranked No. 198 by Golfweek. The women are ranked No. 156.
