NAIRN, Scotland – Scan the list of pairings and tee times for Friday’s opening foursomes at the Curtis Cup, and there’s a name conspicuous in its absence: Charley Hull. After some controversy about whether or not she could even play on the GB&I team after missing a mandatory practice session, Hull will sit out of the first match.
Hull, 16, along with Pamela Pretswell, a 22-year-old from Scotland, will be the odd women out for the first matches on the GB&I side, while long hitters Emily Tubert and Erica Popson will watch from the U.S. sidelines.
The three morning foursome matches, to be played at Nairn Golf Club in Nairn, Scotland:
8 a.m. – Austin Ernst and Brooke Pancake (U.S.) vs. Kelly Tidy and Amy Boulden (GB&I)
8:12 a.m. – Amy Anderson and Tiffany Lua (U.S.) vs. Holly Clyburn and Bronte Law (GB&I)
8:24 a.m. – Lindy Duncan and Lisa McCloskey (U.S.) vs. Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow (GB&I)
