Stephanie Meadow of Northern Ireland will play Spain’s Rocio Sanchez Lobato in the final match of the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at Carnoustie.
Meadow, a 20-year-old Alabama student, beat 16-year-old Georgia Hall 3 and 2 in the second semi-final match.
In the first semi-final, Sanchez Lobata defeated France’s Perrine Delacour by two holes. Delacour, the 2009 British girls champion, is ranked No. 25 in the world.
Meadow, who holed the winning putt for GB&I in the recent victory over the United States at the Curtis Cup, is ranked No. 20 in the world. She was 46th of the 64 qualifiers for the match-play stages at Carnoustie. 19-year-old Sanchez Lobato, is ranked No. 193 in the world.
