Ian Holt has given a verbal commitment to play for Kent State in the fall of 2014. Holt, a junior at Stow-Munroe Falls High School in Stow, Ohio, didn’t visit any other schools – he always knew he wanted to attend Kent State.
Holt said a major draw to Kent State was the opportunity to play for head coach Herb Page. It’s also close to home.
“Their practice facilities are unbelievable, and having an indoor putting green and heated stalls to hit balls out of will be perfect for practicing in the winter,” Holt said. “The university is on the rise academically and athletically and it’s also right down the road from my house, which made it that much easier to decide to go there.”
Holt was seventh at the Hudson Invitational earlier this summer, and has three top 5s in AJGA events this year. He also was seventh at the Ohio Public Links Championship.
