Casey Martin is adding another professional start to his schedule. The Oregon men’s golf coach and former PGA Tour player has accepted a sponsor exemption to compete in the Web.com Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open on Sept. 13-16 at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho.
Martin also has accepted an invitation to play the PGA Tour’s Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. The Timberlake is scheduled for Oct. 4-7 at TPC Summerlin. Martin qualified for this year’s U.S. Open and missed the cut by a shot after rounds of 74-75 at The Olympic Club.
The Open was Martin’s first PGA Tour or Web.com Tour start since the 2006 Oregon Classic. He won the 1998 Lakeland Classic on the Web.com Tour, and played the PGA Tour in 2000. He has made 19 cuts in 42 career PGA Tour starts, and made 58 of 126 cuts on the Web.com Tour, including five top-3 finishes.
