Borg (No. 48, 2013) commits to South Florida

Ryan Borg, who is ranked 48th in the Class of 2013 in Golfweek‘s junior rankings, has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at South Florida. He did not make any other unofficial visits.

Borg is a native of Caledon, Ontario, but attends high school at The Crenshaw School in Gotha, Fla.

“I chose USF because of the proximity to my coach in Orlando, the climate which condones year-round golf, the practice facilities are state of the art and the exclusiveness the golf team gets,” Borg said.

He also liked how much the coaches cared about the team succeeding on the course, but also in the classroom.

In 2012, Borg finished seventh at the AJGA Genesis Junior Open, tied for 10th at the Canadian Junior and tied for 21st at the Canadian Amateur.
