Oklahoma won a second consecutive tournament on Oct. 30, finishing eight shots ahead of runner-up Texas A&M. The Sooners, No. 3 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, now enter the offseason.
Oklahoma pulled away from the field in the first round with a 9-under 279 at Briggs Ranch Golf Course in San Antonio and no other team could catch up. That round broke the 18-hole school record set just 11 days earlier at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic (8-under 280). The Sooners’ 13-under 563 also broke a 36-hole scoring record at Oklahoma, as did their final score of 16-under 848. The 54-hole total was 11 shots lower than the previous record, which also came at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.
Texas San Antonio and Tulane finished tied for third at the Alamo, at 1-under 863, and Baylor was solo fifth at 10-over 874.
Tulane’s Maribel Lopez Porras won individual medalist honors at 7-under 209. Baylor’s Lauren Taylor was next at 7 under. Oklahoma players Kaitlyn Rohrback and Taylor Schmidt were T-3 at 4-under 212.
