Emily Gilbreth of Bellaire, Texas, has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at the University of Houston in 2013. She will be part of the newly established UH Women’s Golf Team.
She will compete as an individual at tournaments during the 2013-14 season, and then the team will debut during the 2014-15 campaign.
“I’m excited to be part of a new program,” said Gilbreth. “Actually, I never thought I would have a chance to play college golf in my hometown of Houston, and out of the nowhere UH decides to start a golf team.”
“I picked UH because of their outstanding golf facilities, amazing support staff, and coaches with the ability to build a winning program,” said Gilbreth.
Gilbreth won numerous high school, local and regional events, including the 2012 Texas High School 5A Region III Championship, the 2012 IJGT Dupage Classic, and the 2011 Golfweek Ranked TJGT/HGA “Major” at Redstone.
