Martin defends Donald Ross Junior title at Pinehurst

Joshua Martin successfully defended his Donald Ross Junior title on Saturday, firing a second-consecutive 70 to clear Ben Griffin and Carter Jenkins by a single shot at Pinehurst in North Carolina.

Martin, a high school sophomore, is the fourth player to defend his Donald Ross title and only the sixth to win multiple championships.

In the 12-14 age division, Virginia native Nathan Chuwait (70-66) won by three shots. He had seven birdies and an eagle over his two rounds at Pinehurst’s No. 1 Course.

In the youngest age division (11 and under), Grayson Wotnosky beat Akshay Bhatia by a single shot behind rounds of 72-74.

The 12-14 and 11-and-under divisions both play Pinehurst No. 1, while the 15-18 division rotates between Pinehurst Nos. 4 and 5.
