Phil Mickelson has returned to the top 10 in the Official World Golf Ranking after winning the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Mickelson rose 12 spots to No. 10 in this week’s edition of the OWGR.
Brandt Snedeker, who finished second to Mickelson at TPC Scottsdale, continued to rise in the OWGR. His runner-up finish moved him from seventh to a career-high No. 6 in the ranking. He began the year ranked 10th, but has finished in the top 3 in three of four starts this year. The WMPO was his second consecutive runner-up finish.
Scott Piercy shot a final-round 61 to finish third in Phoenix. That finish allowed him to rise to a career-high 37th in the ranking.
Stephen Gallacher’s win at the Dubai Desert Classic may allow him to sneak into the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. He rose from 111th to 60th in the OWGR after his second career European Tour win. The top 64 available players as of Feb. 11 will get in the field.
