USC, No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, won the Bruin Wave Invitational at El Caballero CC in Tarzana, Calif., on Tuesday over host No. 22 UCLA.
UCLA led after the second round by eight shots, but USC shot 5-over 293 in the final round to claim victory by two. The Trojans finished at 20-over 884 to win their third tournament this season. The Bruins finished second at 22-over 886. In third was Arizona with a three round 32-over 896 total.
USC freshman Annie Park won her first collegiate tournament. Park joined the team in January after graduating from high school early in December. She was the only player under par this week at 1-under 215, with rounds of 68-76-71, to claim a four shot victory. Pepperdine’s Marissa Chow and UCLA’s Tiffany Lua finished in a tie for second a 3-over 219.
