After his victory Sunday at the John Deere Classic, Jordan Spieth moved to No. 59 in the latest Official World Golf Ranking.
Spieth, who moved up 61 spots from No. 120, started the year outside the top 800. He was No. 692 after finishing T-22 at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, his second PGA Tour start as a pro. He then moved up to No. 215 after a pair of top-10s on both the Web.com and PGA tours, including a T-2 showing at the Puerto Rico Open.
Also moving up after a win this week is Phil Mickelson, who improved three spots to No. 5. Lefty was No. 10 just five weeks ago and was No. 22 following a T-51 finish at this year’s Farmers Insurance Open. It’s the highest ranking for Mickelson since 2011 when he reached No. 3 in the world.
