UST is spotlighting its new Recoil family of graphite shafts. The Recoil iron shaft recently became available to consumers, and wood shafts had been expected to follow.
The iron shaft contains 19 layers of material. The weight range is 92 to 125 grams, and the shaft is available in 18 combinations of weight, flex and torque.
UST states bluntly that its iron shaft is better than steel in feel and performance. “We’ve been able to loosen up the torque and put feel back in the shaft, and still keep the flex profile relatively stiff,” said Mike Guerrette, UST vice president of product research and tour development.
Cost: $44.99 per shaft
