Senior Jack Perry and freshman Matt Fitzpatrick finished second and T-3, respectively, to help Northwestern capture the Windon Memorial on Monday at the Knollwood Club in Lake Forest, Ill.
Perry shot 5-under 211 to finish three shots back of individual champion Chris O’Neill of Michigan. O’Neal is the third Wolverine to win medalist honors at this event in the last four years.
Fitzpatrick, the 2013 U.S. Amateur champion, bounced back after a 53rd-place finish at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to shoot 4-under 212.
The Wildcats, who posted a 4-under 860, bounced back as a team, too, following a 15th-place finish at Olympia Fields. It was their first team victory at the Windon since 2007 and fourth overall win.
Kent State finished second as a team, three shots back of Northwestern. Michigan was third followed by Ohio State and Purdue, which both tied for fourth.
