Howell, Uihlein rise in Official World Golf Ranking

David Howell and Peter Uihelin, who finished first and second, respectively, at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, moved up in the latest Official World Golf Ranking.

Howell improved from No. 176 to No. 94 following his first victory in seven years. The Englishman reached ninth in the world in June 2006 before eventually falling outside the top 500. He entered 2013 just outside the top 200.

Uihlein continues to push toward a spot inside the top 50, moving from No. 100 to No. 69 after his second runner-up finish in his last three starts. The former Oklahoma State standout entered 2013 at No. 389 in the world and was No. 244 before a victory at the Madeira Islands Open earlier this season.
