Arkansas senior Sebastian Cappelen shot 4-under 212 to earn medalist honors and also led the Razorbacks to the team victory Tuesday at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate.
After an opening-round 18-over 306, the Razorbacks rallied with rounds of 285 and 284 to finish at 11-over 875 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., five shots ahead of runner-up Purdue, which shot 3-over 291 Tuesday. Georgia – the 36-hole leader by three shots over Florida State, four shots over Purdue and six over Arkansas – shot 8-over 296 in the final round and finished third at 881, followed by Florida State (299) at 887.
In notching his fourth college victory, Cappelen shot rounds of 70-71-71 and won by three shots over Purdue’s Adam Schenk. Another Purdue player, Austin Eoff, finished third at 1-over 217.
Cappelen was joined by teammates Taylor Moore (T-8) and Thomas Sorensen (T-12) in the top 15.
