The Brickyard Collegiate Championship has been discontinued, tournament officials announced Wednesday.
The tournament, which began in 2007, has been held annually at the Brickyard at Riverside in Macon, Ga., and was won this fall by host school Mercer.
“While we are sad that this has been our final tournament, we are proud of the success this tournament achieved and the wonderful memories from it,” Brickyard at Riverside owner Alfred Sams Jr. wrote to Brickyard volunteers on Tuesday. “We want to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers for believing in, and providing such strong financial support and many volunteer hours to achieve this tournament success.”
