A day after signing 2013 winner Harris English, Callaway Golf landed another big fish in reigning FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai winner Henrik Stenson on Friday.
Callaway took to Twitter to break the news:
“Next up on #TeamCallaway for ’14 is defending FedEx Cup & Race to Dubai champion. Welcome aboard, @henrikstenson.”
The Swede replied from his Twitter account: “@CallawayGolf Glad to be on board!”
Stenson enjoyed a resurgence in 2013, playing 18 events on the PGA Tour, winning twice, finishing runner-up three times and adding a third-place finish as well. He won two FedEx Cup playoff events (Deutsche Bank and TOUR Championship), while also finishing second at the Open Championship and third at the PGA Championship. He finished no worse than T-21 in the four majors.
Stenson won nearly $6.4 million in 2013, a year after only making $791,107.
But his success also reached over to Europe, where he won the DP World Tour Championship in November, while also picking up six other top-10 finishes.
