ORLANDO, Fla. – Kentwool CEO Mark Kent was playing golf in a pro-am tournament in 2008 when his feet started to blister. He thought to himself and asked his caddie “Why doesn’t anymore make a better golf sock?”
His caddie responded with, “You run a manufacturing company, why don’t you go make a great golf sock?”
According to Kent, that’s when the design of the “World’s Best Golf Sock” began.
It was in 2010 when the sock first hit retail markets and has expanded throughout the years.
This year, the 170-year-old company introduced the KW series Sport and Pro-Light socks.
The design is a 50/50 blend of superfine merino wool/bamboo for softness and advanced moisture wicking.
“We engineered the world’s best golf sock, but we keep evolving our products to stay out in front,” says Mark Kent, President and CEO of Kentwool. “By listening to our customers and Tour players we keep consistent demand which in turn creates long-term revenue opportunities for our retail partners.”
The socks are priced at $20.95. They are available in black and natural colors along with these features: moisture management, odor resistance, durability and 100 perfect blister-free guarantee.
The brand is also showing workout clothes in the same feel as the KW series sock – superfine merino wool and bamboo, but those are not for available for retail at this time.
