About the Golfweek Junior Invitational Series
The first Golfweek Junior Invitational took place in 2001 at Championsgate in Orlando and drew a strong national field, just as it has every year since. With the need for a similar event with easier access for west coast players, the Golfweek West Coast Junior Invitational was added in 2011 and the original event was re-named the Golfweek East Coast Junior Invitational.
The New England Junior Invitational began in 2012 in Boston and was played last year in Connecticut. The event moves back to the Boston area for 2014.
Last year, the Golfweek Midwest Junior Invitational conducted its first event at Chicago’s famed Cog Hill Country Club, where it will return for the 2014 tournament.
With such a demand from quality players across the country to compete in the East Coast Junior Invitational, the tournament will expand to two full fields of girls and boys divisions for the 2014 event. To reflect the international character of the field of players the event has been re-named as the Golfweek International Junior Invitational.
To replace the East Coast Junior Invitational, the Southeast Junior Invitational and Texas Junior Invitational will take place for the first time this year, the former in the Carolinas region and the latter in the Dallas area.
