Oh boy, now Richard Sherman is taking up golf?? Warn YouTube, as the videos might just go viral.
Two weeks after Sherman inserted himself into the public spotlight with a rant that sent the NFL world into a tizzy, Sherman seems to be taking up our sport. But certainly he can’t feel the same feelings about his golf game, can he?
Not just yet.
Sherman started to take up the game over the summer after a charity event with teammates. From there, he caught the golf bug.
In the first video, Sherman takes a lesson at a public range from Teresa Caluori (the lesson begins at the 2:30 mark). Best part about the video? He shows up in a Stanford Cardinal tee shirt, and has the ultimate quote: “We’ve been taking lessons and trying to get better week by week, but it’s a process.”
Shades of Stanford alum Tiger Woods much??
A couple of weeks later, this video was posted: Seahawks CB Richard Sherman goes golfing (Part 2).
Sherman and his cousin, James “JMO” Raby, head to the course. It’s Raby’s first time on the golf course.
“It’s more of a confident boost for myself,” Sherman said.
Another solid quote from Sherman: “On a scale of 1 through 10, I’m a 112 … on my competitiveness.”
He only connects of couple of times on the course, but still loves it when he does.
“You can turn your golf game around in a split second,” he said. “I was just frowning. Now I’m smiling.”
Does Sherman’s new-found obsession make him someone to root for on Sunday in the Super Bowl, or are you cheering on Peyton Manning and the Broncos regardless?
