Zach Johnson wins PGA Tour Player of Month honors

A month that featured a victory, a T-3 and a T-8 was justly rewarded for Zach Johnson on Friday, as he picked up the PGA Tour Player of the Month honors.

The award is voted upon by fans, and Johnson topped Jimmy Walker, Patrick Reed and Scott Stallings – all winners in January.

Johnson’s victory came at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, the 11th Tour victory of his career. He was T-3 at the Humana Challenge and T-8 at the Sony Open.

Johnson posted rounds in the 60s in 11 of his 12 rounds for the month, with his stroke average an impressive 67.17.

Avis, a co-sponsor of the award, will contribute $50,000 to the Zach Johnson Foundation as part of the honor.

“This is just another example of how great the game of golf is with such a unique platform to give back to our communities,” Johnson said in a release.
