The UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational will feature a Southern flair Monday and Tuesday when 15 teams from the region, including seven teams from the state of Texas, play at the Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.

Oklahoma headlines the field at No. 12 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Two other teams in the top 50 will play – Baylor (No. 28) and Southeastern Louisiana (No. 44).

The field includes: East Carolina, Houston Baptist, Kansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Texas El Paso, Texas State, Tulsa, Texas-San Antonio and Wichita State.

Oklahoma took a one-stroke win over North Texas last year.

“Hopefully we can come out and get competitive and start working on the things that we need to start working on in order to gain some momentum in the springtime,” Oklahoma head coach Ryan Hybl said in a release. “Last year, going and winning at San Antonio propelled us through the springtime. Hopefully we can go down with the same mission and get the golf course scoped out like we want it, get prepared and get some work in and hopefully have a chance to win.”

Baylor junior Kyle Jones will look to repeat as individual champ after winning by two strokes last year.
