USC didn’t close particularly well Tuesday at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, but Golfweek‘s second-ranked women’s team was still able to begin the spring season with a victory and stretch its winning streak to eight.

The Trojans’ final-round 15-over 299 left them at 14 over for the tournament, seven shots clear of second-place Duke, ranked third in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Top-ranked UCLA tied for fourth with No. 4 Washington at 29 over, six shots back of third-place and sixth-ranked Arizona State, which shot 3-under 281 on Tuesday at Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Annie Park, the defending NCAA individual champion, took medalist honors by seven shots. Park’s 2-over 73 left her at 6-under 207 overall. Baylor’s Hayley Davis was runner-up at 1 over.

Top-ranked Alison Lee of UCLA tied for 18th at 7 over while her teammate, third-ranked Erynne Lee, tied for 28th at 10 over. Duke’s Yu Liu, ranked sixth, was among a group of five players who tied for third at 2 over.
