Bubba Watson moved up 12 spots to 14th in the latest Official World Golf Ranking following his victory at the Northern Trust Open.
The win was Watson’s first since the 2012 Masters, a victory that at the time moved him to fourth in the world. Watson was ranked 30th just three weeks ago.
Dustin Johnson, the runner-up at Riviera, improved three spots. He is now tied for eighth with Sergio Garcia. Jason Day fell out of the top 10 to 11th as a result while Rory McIlroy (seventh) and Matt Kuchar (10th) each fell a spot.
Also moving up was Thomas Aiken, whose victory at the European Tour’s African Open moved him to 79th, an improvement of 34 spots. This week’s Web.com Tour winner, Alex Cejka, is now 317th after his victory at the weather-shortened Colombia Championship.
