North Texas claimed victory at the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek in Choudrant, La. The team shot 294-292 in the two-round tournament to win the title by two shots over Louisiana Tech.
Sam Houston shot 18-over 594 to finish in third, while Southeastern Louisiana finished at 21 over good enough for fourth place. Louisiana finished in fifth at 22 over in the 13-team tournament.
Central Arkansas’ Pep Angles, who was tied for the lead heading into Tuesday, shot a final-round even-par 72 to win the event by one-shot. Sam Houston State’s Albert Miner shot 4-under 68 in the final-round to finish in second place at 1-under 143. Louisiana Tech’s Victor Lange finished in third at even par.
