Billy Horschel had some curt words for the redesigned Blue Monster course after he finished his week at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.
After signing for a 73 Sunday that gave him an even-par weekend in finishing 11 over, good for about 50th place midway through the afternoon, Horschel took to Twitter.
@BillyHo_Golf: “On the way back to Jax. Look forward to coming back next year and playing Trump Doral after the CHANGES. Should be a good course then”
That elicited plenty of responses from followers, some of which Horschel answered. Here are a few snippets from his replies:
- “Well you haven’t played the course.”
- “I think there are several good holes but several holes need to be tweaked for playability and fairness”
- (when asked what he would change) “3 green. Changes to fairway bunkers on 6,7,17. Those are the holes that come to mind”
- “Sometimes luck plays to much a part in our game. And this week was one of those week because of some of the holes”
Horschel wrapped things up:
@BillyHo_Golf: “Ok well it’s time for me to drive. No tweeting and driving. Talk to everyone in 5 hours! Range rover coming through. #home”
After that, fellow University of Florida product Mark Calcavecchia chimed in:
@MarkCalc: “@BillyHo_Golf hey Billy. 9 looks brutally bad. 3 green. 10 dumb. 4 was good the way it was. Looks bad now. Other than that looks good to me”
