Adidas Golf introduced its newest line of footwear called the pure 360 on March 5, as part of the next generation of adipure footwear.
“We’ve listened carefully to feedback and combined it with new material technologies to create a premium shoe that we’re confident will resonate with both Tour players and amateurs alike,” said Masun Denison, Director, Global Product marketing, Footwear at Adidas Golf.
Adidas Golf Tour staff professional Dustin Johnson, who averages over 12,000 steps in a standard 18-hole round of golf, first played in the new pure 360 shoe in January during the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
During an in-depth video episode analyzing the product, “Sport Science” host John Brenkus noted that the pure 360 is the “lightest, softest, most stable, and most comfortable premium golf shoe the company has ever created.”
Designed especially for active golfers like Johnson, the new shoe is made from the brand’s thinnest and softest leather combination. The technology behind the product aims at allowing the foot and body to flow together smoothly, in a natural path leading from the ground, up into and throughout the golfer’s swing.
This stability and comfort was created through innovative technologies. A liquid polyurethane was injected directly into a new puremotion outsole that also features swing-plane traction and a midfoot cleat, to create grip and stability for the player. The new 360WRAP was designed specifically to add support to the midfoot and heel, creating comfort.
“It’s very important to have the right kind of shoe and the right kind of traction,” Johnson said.
The pure 360 is now available in four colorways, each pair running at $250: black/running white/samba blue; running white/silver metallic/slime; tan brown/white/dark solar blue; and running white/running white/metallic silver.
According to Brenkus, the pure 360 is the “company’s answer to luxury comfort.”
