Patrick Rodgers and the Stanford Cardinal have had a three-week layoff since their T-2 showing at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters. But Stanford is back to host The Goodwin Friday through Sunday at the par-70, 6,727-yard Stanford (Calif.) Golf Course.
The field includes Colorado State, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Northwestern (No. 38), Oregon (No. 48), San Diego State (No. 32), San Francisco, San Jose State, Southern California (No. 24), St. Mary’s (Calif.), Stanford (No. 7), TCU (No. 41), Alabama-Birmingham (No. 14), UC Davis, UCLA (No. 16), UNLV (No. 26), Washington (No. 15) and Washington State.
The tournament used to be played as the U.S. Intercollegiate, but was changed to The Goodwin in honor of former Stanford head coach Wally Goodwin.
Stanford topped TCU by seven strokes last year, led by Rodgers, who finished second. Four of the Cardinal finished in the top 10.
