Memphis, the No. 44 team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, will host a 15-team tournament at the Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tenn., Monday and Tuesday. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Senior Will Pearson leads the team with a 71.78 scoring average and two top fives this year.
The field includes Arkansas State, Austin Peay State, Belmont, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Dayton, Georgetown, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis (No. 44), Missouri State, Missouri-Kansas City, Oakland, South Alabama, Western Kentucky and Xavier.
Austin Peay will look to defend its title in the coming days. The team won last year’s event by two strokes over runner-up Louisiana-Lafayette.
“Colonial is always a quality golf course to go to and one of the best courses in the state,” Austin Peay head coach Kirk Kayden said in a release. “We will rely on the experience of the guys that played here last year to help in our preparation.”
