“Thank you golf gods, for allowing me to hole out from the bunker, and then allowing me for me to be super excited both on the course and on the show later that night” (in a Jimmy Fallon voice and “thank you note” music playing).
That’s how Fallon should have started his “Thank You Note” session on Friday’s episode of NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”
If you don’t watch the show you might not understand that – but as a golf fan you’ll understand that Fallon was pumped up when he holed out from a bunker April 4, and one of his playing partners caught it on tape.
Fallon had been called by other celebrities – world-renowned chef Mario Batali, Michael J. Fox and Scott Fishman – to play a round of golf at Bayonne (N.J.) Golf Club.
Although, he admits he had to get up at 6 a.m. and it was freezing outside (well, Jimmy, you were playing in New Jersey at the beginning of April), Fallon was excited both on the course as Batali caught the action – in slow-mo no less – and then later on the tape-delayed show.
For the record, Fallon used a 56 degree Nike wedge to play the shot.
