AUGUSTA, Ga. – Well, let’s try this again.
As long as Mother Nature cooperates – and all signs point to that – Tuesday will be a delayed opening to the 2014 Masters, with throngs of patrons and players alike taking in iconic Augusta National.
The weather? A day after Augusta National had to close its gates for the first time since April 7, 2003, it looks as though the club will not need to worry about any such problems on Tuesday, as temperatures will rise into the low 70s with only a 10 percent chance of rain.
Many players will try to take advantage of that good weather, getting out on the course for the first time this week, especially to take a gander at the “new” 17th hole that is minus the famous Eisenhower Tree.
Tuesday is also a big day for media interviews, with big names taking the trip to the expansive media room right of the first fairway to talk about their plans for the week. Here is today’s lineup:
• 10 a.m.: Hideki Matsuyama
• 10:30 a.m.: Henrik Stenson
• 11 a.m.: Adam Scott
• 11:30 a.m.: Justin Rose
• 1:45 p.m.: Rory McIlroy
• 2:30 p.m.: Phil Mickelson
• 3 p.m.: Matthew Fitzpatrick
• 3:30 p.m.: Jason Dufner
• 4 p.m.: Jordan Spieth
• 5 p.m.: Arnold Palmer
