It could, once again, be an ACC affair at the Wolfpack Spring Open.
Three of the conference’s top teams will compete Saturday and Sunday at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at N.C. State in Raleigh. Three ACC teams topped the leaderboard last year (Duke, North Carolina State and Clemson), and an ACC team has won the event two years in a row.
Virginia, a top-10 team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, looks to continue its success after a win at the Jim West Intercollegiate, Duke eyes a repeat after winning the event last year, N.C. State defends its home turf and Wake Forest and Clemson make bids at a resume-boosting win heading into the postseason.
The field includes Clemson (No. 29), Columbia, Duke, Francis Marion, George Mason, Loyola (Maryland), N.C. State, N.C. State (B), Princeton, St. John’s, Temple, UNC-Wilmington, Valparaiso, Virginia (No. 9) and Wake Forest (No. 36).
The five members of the ACC will compete in their conference tournament April 25-27 at the Old North State Club in Uwharrie Point, N.C.
