Alabama State won its third Southwestern Athletic Conference Men’s Championship in as many years Wednesday, beating out runner-up Jackson State by 43 strokes.
ASU finished with an 865 at Oak Wings Golf Club in Alexandria, La.

He made 16 birdies and an eagle over the course of the event.
“From the moment I step on the property, I feel really comfortable playing here, especially based on last year’s results,” Ferrier said in a release. “I love the greens, so anytime you have confidence in and around the greens, it makes golf a little bit easier. These championships are big for our program. It shows the direction we are heading, especially winning by the margin we did this year.”
Texas Southern (966), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (966), Alabama A&M (331), Prairie View A&M (1039), Alcorn State (1061) and Mississippi Valley State (1454) rounded out the leaderboard.
