You might think there’s no difference between your game and Rickie Fowler’s after he topped this shot during the recent pro-am for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
But there’s still a distinction to be made: It’s believable when he says he did this intentionally, seeking a light moment.
Fowler tweeted in response to a fan’s question: “On purpose…fun to do”
At 53rd in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, Fowler has seen signs of improvement since working with Butch Harmon on changes to his swing – most recently paying off at the Masters.
This week, however, not so much – maybe he should stick to aiming for the sweet spot. He’ll miss the cut at the Zurich Classic with a 3-over total (75-72). He’s not alone, as Billy Horsche, the defending champ, and Patrick Reed, a two-time winner this season, played in his group and also earned MCs.
